I firmly believe in continuously stretching your mind past the walls of a schooling institution. I had the privilege of a wonderful education that opened my mind to my true passion of real estate, and I continue to take what I’ve learned in University as I go about my daily work and life. I love talking about the home space, and I desire staying up-to-date with new trends and the changes in the real estate market. There’s nothing more beautiful than passing the knowledge that I have for real estate with others.
So let this blog be a place where you can check back and learn a few new things about home design and the current Oakland real estate market.
To celebrate the new year, I thought it would be nice to share with you some of my favorite home tips and the trends that are on my radar:
1. Your wall paint reveals your personality: Choose the colors in which you wish to paint your walls wisely, as they can subconsciously affect others. Warmer shades, such as peach, pink and yellow, can reveal that you are more a cheerful, happy-go-lucky person. On the other hand, if you decide to go with softer colors then you are likely evoking a calm and tranquil energy. Are you the confident and innovative type? Then your walls likely work as accessories by being painted brightly and boldly.
2. Create an outdoors oasis for your home: Sometimes making a garden for yourself can be a difficult venture if you’re searching for an apartment or condo in the city. However, if you do have the luxury of a moderate-sized yard then you should consider decorating the exterior. Listening to the birds in the morning with your slippers and warm cup of coffee is just what you need before you start your busy day. It’s the little things in life that count. I recommend venturing down to your local flee market and purchasing a few objects. Think thin couches, wooden coffee tables and lanterns. Refurbish the vintage furniture pieces that you find with drapes and lights and you’ve got yourself the start to an enchanting forest!
3. Dress up your fireplace: You might not find much of a need for a fireplace in Oakland, but don’t let that deter you from buying your dream home! There are a ton of creative ideas you can take up to change the center piece of your home. Have you thought about bringing the outdoors in with exotic-looking plants spilling out of the foyer? Or what about sticking a mirror in the frame of your fireplace so as to make the space look bigger? If you’re a keen art collector, then perhaps you should use this area to display your most prized vase collection. Just make sure that the cat won’t jump on them!
